Recently returned from a trip to Darwin for Piling Contractors at the LNG Project where they are installing 1,980 steel tube driven piles ranging from 900 mm to 1500 mm diameter and up to 28 m long. It's probably one of the largest Piling Operations currently underway in Australia. Heat was a bit of a shock to the system and its not yet summer there, not sure I could handle it in the summer months.
I utilized my Quickshot elevated telescopic camera pole that was recently purchased from the UK. Its a one-man operation which extends to 9 metres, the camera is controlled from an iphone using Camranger. Takes a few minutes to prepare and seconds to extend. I can see it being a popular part of my kit.
As part of the photographic project I am currently editing 274Gb of time-lapse footage that was shot during their steel piling process. There is enough for two time-lapse videos showing various aspects of their operation on the project. Footage looks great so looking forward to editing it all together.
